air compensator jets

    Haynes manual states that some carb models have air compensator jets located on the intake side of the carb body. Anyone know which models have these jets, and what is their purpose? My carbs have these jets, but they aren't the original carbs. Thanks in advance.

    HSC32 series Hitachi carbs (like on your bike) have the air compensator jets; the HSC33 series (XJ700 air-cooled and a few others) do not. And I have no idea what they do.........
