Alternator wiring question

    just wondering there is 3 wires coming out of the alternator on my 81 xj550 and there all grren with a yellow stripe and conect to 3 all white wires what i want to know is are they connected in a certain order or can any green/yellow go to any white????

    In my 550 book they're all white, including the wires that come out of the alternator.

    PM me with an email address and I can send you scans of the wiring and circuit diagrams as well as cable routing, from the factory 550 Seca book.

    Everything may not match up exactly between your 550 and the 550 Seca but it should be close.
