    hi just got an xj650 now believe to be xj750 looking for any clue as to year and model is it us or uk model engine number 22R-101010 many thanks archie

    It is a XJ750K '83 going by the 22R number.

    Google turned up this:

    Quote: My 1983 XJ 750 Maxim is a bit strange as it is a mixture of the models XJ 750 K and XJ650 J. For example, the front forks are from the 650J while the front brakes are from the 750J. My engine nr starts with 22R.

    The size of the engine is stamped on the front of the motor between cylinder 2 and 3.

    Here's the info from the XJCD serial number list.......

    Serial # 22R-100101 to 22R-120000 is a 1983 US model XJ750MK
