I came across this on eBay.

    '83 Yamaha

I can't find any information about this bike. It looks pretty cool. The absolute last thing I need is another bike, but I'd have to miss out on something.

    Please, fill me in!

Ah, I found the problem. He has it listed as an 83 but it's actually an '86.

    Anyone know anything about these?

Yea same motor as the MaxX, 700 5 valve water cooled, shared some body parts with a radian, but sorta neither here nor there styling and tons of faux chrome ... But had down draft carbs like the sport bikes.
    Cool.

It was an FZ750 motor in a cruiser/standard frame which was panned by almost everyone for its styling but nevertheless was appreciated for its handling and zippy performance. I'd have one, but they are pretty rare nowadays. Nothing in common with the Maxim/Seca engine. Good for about 95hp and 135-140 mph top end. Revvy and torquey, like the FZ.

    Fazers have a cult following.
They're quick, light, nimble, and have lots of personality. They lasted two years in the States (I think). They're sometimes called the baby Vmax. You would probably spend more time at the gas station trying to explain the thing to bystanders than actually riding it though.
    I've always liked them myself.
