I mean, I THINK is an N. Just got the bike this weekend.
I found this spot a few years ago with a older XJ I bought and got running thanks to the wealth of knowledge here. I also cut the frame to make it a "rat" and lowered the rear for reasons now beyond me.
I am hoping for some redemption in my own eyes as I try to lift this slightly younger, slighter larger bike back to a shade of glory.
Thanks in advance to all of you old schoolers who keep forums like, and therefore the hobby, alive.

I also think 35k miles is not a lot for an ‘85 XJ700. Cool project bringing back an older XJ. Sounds like you have the skill and determination to get this one back on the road and enjoying trails again. Wishing you the best as you work on it!
