I think i may have found what's causing some intermittent running issues, particulary when i ride aabout 40+ miles in a day. I found that the plug with the 3 white wires going to my regulator/rectifier is melted slightly.

I idled the bike for appx 5 minutes, and the plug was a bit warm to the touch. The service manual is a bit unclear about when to replace the regulator/rectifier.....

the other end of those go to the alternator, so all the electricity in your bike goes thru them. if that plug doesn't make a perfect connection, it starts to heat up, that makes a worse connection, next thing is the plug gets melted.
replace the plug with 3 separate plugs or solder and shrink tube them and be done with it.
most likely nothing is wrong with the reg/rect

SWEET!!!! I'll try that, and hope the problem disappears! Could that cause some of the problems leaving me at the side of the road?
