Okay, time for another newbie question for the experts...

I've decided that the only way I'm really going to learn to work on my bike is to just roll up my sleeves and dig in. Which means I'm going to be hitting you guys up for advice a lot for quite a while!

I'm going through the instructions in the Haynes guide for dismantling the thing, and I'm stuck. The gas tank was easy. The pipes were easy, once I got the aftermarket highway peg bracket off. The battery was easy. But how the heck do I get the battery tray out of this thing??? I removed the bottom bolt and the bolt at the front/top of the tray, but I don't see how the heck the thing is going to come out of the frame. Any advice?

ummm, I never had to do this yet. Did you get this resolved? I guess I could look under the blanket over the weekend... Currently my battery is out but I'm waiting patiently for that spring ride

Yeah, I got it out. I figured since no one answered me, it was just a matter of forcing the darned thing out. Now let's hope it'll go back in...
