New rear shocks, Progressive Suspension fork springs, stainless steel brake lines, and a clock!

Maybe get the seat professionally redone with "atomic" foam...

and maybe, if you like louder exhausts, a 4-1 or some free flowing slip ons

great ideas fitz, and schoot, thanks for teachin me how to clean my carbs in the chatroom the other night, after all that info, she lives again....that being said as far as exhaust i was considering robbing the exhaust from my ex fiances basket case maxim 550 since mine is half rotted anyways, should that work well enough till i can afford a "throatier" exhaust?

For me, it was a motorcycle lift table for my garage. All the work I do on my beloved Maxim is so much more enjoyable. It's awesome!

    I could be wrong, but I don't think a 550 exhaust will fit on a 650.

You are correct. It won't fit; 550 is unique to 550.

Don't forget the comfortable seat and hand grips. Nothing worse that sore rear end and numb hands.
