Put everything back together last night and got out the colortune to set the pilot screws. #'s 3 and 4 are between 2 1/4 and 3 1/2. # 1 is about 2 and # 2 is about 1 3/4. Could that be ok, or does it indicate that maybe I need to revisit the carbs? The bike starts easily and idles well.

I've seen new from factory sets that had 0 to 4 turns. Differences aren't unusual. In fact, if they could be manufactured uniformly they wouldn't require adjustment screws.

    I think you're probably good.

Thanks. I'm at least going to run it a little and check the plugs.

if it starts and runs good, don't argue with success

Now that you are closing-in on being Fine-Tuned; make Tweaking an easily done exercise.

Take a Small Screwdriver and shorten both ends.
Chuck it in the Drill and sand a nice new end.
Scribe a line to fill with white nail polish as an indicator.

Grind the tip to fit the Head of a Pilot Screw with great precision.

You'll be able to Tweak without removing the Tank.
