Blowing fuses when key turned to 'on'

    I'm quite sad. New brakes, clutch, altenator brushes. Now she is blowing fuses (main fuse) when I turn the ignition on. I had this same problem when I changed the brushes. When I take the alt cover off she stops blowing fuses. Last time I took it all apart and put it back together and all was good.

    I was at about 7.5k rpm when it happened. I'm about to go take the alt apart again. Joy.

    Fixed. One of the wires with ring terminals that connect the brushes to the rest of the electrical system had worn through the plastic insilation and was shorting against the alt cap. Joy!
