Hi guys. I rebuilt my calipers and installed new pads on my 82 maxim 750. Also completely flushed the system with new fluid. Went for a short ride today and the brakes are locking. Tire won't spin at all and lever is very tight with pressure. After I parked it and left it a few hours they were released again. I went ahead and ordered a MC rebuild kit but my question is this......, the PO switched the front forks with ones off a Seca which has the anti-dive system. Could that be the problem? I don't think the MC is original maxim because it does not have the fluid sensor. It does say Yamaha on the cap though. Any thoughts?

Your problem is the master cylinder. There are small bleed holes that release the pressure back to the resoviour. Some people call them spooge holes. When they are blocked your brakes will not release. You'll need to clean and rebuild your master cylinder.

Ok thanks. I purchased an OEM master cylinder on eBay with the fluid sensor so I will rebuild it and install. Should be here this week. Thanks again!
