Well, the old girl has been trusty this summer since the starter rebuild (thanks for all your advice in that other thread), so the next issue I can't get past is front brake squeal.

I just replaced the pads with EBCs (I think; it's been a few weeks), thinking the old ones were just too old. It stopped the squeal... until they broke in. :(

Now I'm figuring the rotor is just glazed. Many of you know already that a new one is (gulp) $200, and they're probably already too thin to have turned.

What have you done that has worked or not worked for stopping front brake squeal on these bikes?

One easy way is to file the edges on the brake pads before installing. You just put a slight bevel edge on the brake pad contact surface.

I run 100 grit sand paper on a disk sander over the surface of the disks to cut the glaze before I install new pads.

Seacamaverick, I have a complete front brake system hanging out in my garage that you can have (free) if they don't sell on fleabay first. The rotor has under 7500 miles on it and is great shape. It looks like you are local to me so if you are interested, drop me a line.
