Tonight I popped off the float bowls to break the drain screws loose.

Everything looked pretty good except this:

The way I see it is I can:

    1) leave it alone.

    2) Cut a new set of slots and try to extract.

    Any thoughts?

    BTW: Which jet is this?

Unless you have to extract that Jet -- (looks clean to me) -- leave it.
The Metering Port is the tiny hole at the bottom of it ... Not affected by the missing brass of the screwdriver slots.

IF you NEED to extract it ... Grab it with a small set of Lock-On's or ViceGrip's.

If you're "Sick-to-death" about having an un-whole part on your bike ... Check the size number on it -- (if its still there) -- or grab the size number off the same Jet from the next carb ... and, I'll see if Your Fairy Jet-father has one to slip beneath your pillow.

Don't care about "unwhole part". Just needed to know if I should pull it out for cleaning. I'll leave well enough alone then.

I'll be really tearing into them soon and reading your tutorial.

On the other hand, it was running pretty darn well after that last long ride with whatever carb cleaner I had in the garage liberally dosed into the fuel. Maybe I should just replace the drain screws, check/set the floats and get after the syncing and colortuning?

    Thanks Rick.
