I just wanted to remove the back rest on the 1979 gs1000 and put very little pressure on the nut and i sheared the bolt right off. It appears to be welded to the frame. I thought (hoped) it would just be a bolt. What is a good way to fix this? Should I drill it out and use a bolt? Any ideas out there?

yea drill it out and get a metric class 8.8 or 10.9 bolt then get it at least spot welded nice and straight
