I should know better. I really should. (I repair aircraft for a living). I put the bikes away for the winter the first week of December and covered them up. But like a dummy, I put the Seca on the lift and raised it up to drain the float bowls and left it up. So, every time I walk by it, it speaks to me. ("Fix this. Check that") And I can't leave well enough alone. So, I pulled the shift lever off to shave a little material off the "pinch" area so the lever will grip the splines tighter. And then.....I go ahead and pull the sprocket cover to try to locate the source of a minor oil leak.....and find a handfull of oil covered half-bushings (WTH?) which turn out to be chain rollers (!!). Seems like the chain is shedding rollers like a dog in a bathtub shedding ticks. Nice. Then, I pull the stator cover (because you guys have been blathering on about replacing brushes) and find the brushes OK, but slight grooves in the slip rings and the stator cover gasket all bunched up and ripped. I should know by now to leave well enough alone-see what you've all started? 8)

glad you wont be missing it now!!

I still wish I had one of those racks.... I gotta sit on the ground.

A Handy Lift. Best investment I ever made! I saw an ad in the back of Cycle World recently; they've got a special deal now for the lift, cycle vise AND front and rear stands for about $600.00 (U.S) which is a HELL of a deal!

The front tire is simply squeezed in between the two sides of the tire vise (crank is in the lower LH corner)...a one-handed operation (while steadying the bars with the other hand) I sincerely doubted my sanity after I ordered this.....until just before I used it the first time. Now I realize I'm a genius!
Part of the reason I purchased it is so I can work on OPBs. (Other Peoples Bikes)

I really wouldn't want to be without it now.
