    I have a XJ650G Maxim I.
What carbs can I put on it. assuming I can change the jets etc?
    eg, can I put mikuni's from a 85 maxim 700 X on it?

    Thanks

You need to use the Hitachi HSC32 series of carbs, they came on all 1980-84 XJ650 or XJ750 Maxim, Midnight Maxim, or Seca models.

Mikuni's will not fit without an incredible amount of additional effort.

You want a set of Hitachis. Mikunis won't work on an XJ650.

Do you have a set of MaxX Mikunis? If so, I might be able to help you out...
