Just thoroughly cleaned a new (to me--off parts bike) set of Hitachi 33's for my XJ700N. Installed new brass float seats and pins (which I got from Chacal for my original set of carbs). As I was wet setting the carbs, I noticed fuel started dripping out of the overflow pipe between number 1 and 2. Upon inspection I discovered that the number 2 carb was overflowing. I've checked the valve and pin and they appear to be operating properly and the float appears to be moving freely. What am I missing? Does it make any difference in how the pins are installed with reference to the four corners?

sounds crazy, but make sure your floats are not installed upside down.

Have you tried to lower the fuel level to that carb? If its set to high then that would be your problem. Just a thought.

Well, I took the seat and pin out and blew out the seat, checked the screen and re-installed them. I made sure that the corners of the pin were parallel with the carb body. It seems to be working since I've filled and refilled them about 10 times getting the wet set correct. Thanks for the suggestions.
