Ok i have been lurking this site for about 3 weeks now and have been through every page on this site and have done alot of researching. I forst want to say thanks for everything. Ive have learned alot and still made a few mistakes even though they were strongly suggested that most people dont. (ie pods, drag bars, exhaust, etc...) However, when i bought the bike the PO did most of the mistakes and am too poor to fix so basically i am forced to live with the headaches caused by the PO and hope to pull through and prosper.

Ok so on to the questions.

    Carbs:

    Main Jets and Pilot:
previous owner have put on some exhaust i have never seen on any of these bikes posted here. Basically, he just cut off from the cross pipe and welded on some pipes with flared tips and had huge washers tacked in on the end for makeshift baffles. When i acquired the bike one was missing and stupid me i just ripped the other one out instead of tacking the other back in. Oh well..

I just put in 116 mains and 41 pilots. I also have emgo pods, exhaust previously described and everything else stock. I did a bench sync.

When i put in the jets i tighten them all the way in correct? I dont have to put 1.5turns out or anything like that right?

When tuning carbs basically the only thing to adjust on the carbs are the pilot screws mounted next the choke and the idle screw? We have been playing with these things for hrs today and couldnt it to run right at all. The problem is it has trouble idling and low rpms take off but when it hits about 4k it screams, and takes off like a banshee. Its amazing how well it runs in the higher rpms.

How do i get it to run right all through the rpms?
Which adjustments or things i could change that would help me?

Any suggestions, tips, tricks, hints or pointers would really help me alot. I know this topic has been beating to death but i just some clarification on some things. Any and all help with be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome the jets themselves get tightened down. The idle mixture screws should be taken all the way in to a gentle bottom (they can be damaged so be careful) then bring them out about 2.5 turns.

After that forget about turns and tune based on the plug coloration. You are looking for a paper bag tan. Too dark you are too rich - too light yo are too lean. Once you have that right you should get a nice transition off idle.

Now with pods and the mod exhaust you may need to play with the jet sizes also if you can't get it tuned but I'm sure you have read the discussions.
