    theres gotta be a replacement carb set for a 700 xj...hitachi,discontinued..what is the size of the port?can u replace them w/aftermarket set? minuki?weber convertion?whats so special about the xj carbs? :?

    You can replace them with any models that are about the same size and have a similar rate of flow such as Mikunis if you can afford them, that is. Webers would work or any other kind you can get to fit and are able to figure out how to adjust the mixture correctly. Mikuni makes good replacement carbs but they are around $250 each or $1000 per set of 4. I would go with fuel injection if I intended to spend that much though.
