Well I finally got everything done and took it for test ride....AWESOME!

This was a real fun project overall and I learned an awful lot during it. For other first timers out there my advice is do what I did...read read READ the carb tutorials on this site before starting. DON'T expect to get out cheap...I figured at the start around $200 in parts etc..I ended up around $400 including some tools (bought the manometer I borrowed today for $50)

DON'T rush it! Take your time and do a thorough job...if you get frustrated...walk away for a little bit.

The ColorTune tool is a really neat little gadget!

Thanks to Len and BigFitz both for all the help and advice along the way...if we ever cross paths I owe ya both some cold beers or whatever your pleasure is.

Running it up in the morning to get it inspected and tagged and then hopefully I can get a solid month or twos riding (after I finish the back brake of course) in before I strip it back down over the winter for some paint and new tennis shoes

I love posts like this. Congratulations. Mine just rolled 7800 miles since going back on the road, today on my 120 mile R/T commute.

Good going. Patience pays off in the long run. Get some new tires on that bad boy.

    Enjoy and PLEASE RIDE SAFE.

That's right...no matter how bad you want to ride, walking away from it and taking a breather will do you good. Congrats, be safe!

Congratulations....it's always good to hear of a guy accomplishing something he's never had the opportunity to try before. Now having said that, I'm pretty sure there were a couple of times during that project where "opportunity" would NOT have been the word that you would have used to describe doing a rebuild to a rack of carbs<LOL> BUT, you made it through.....and you did it right, and that's what counts!

    Kudos!!
