    Hey Guys,

Can anyone help ID these mikuni kogyo carbs, i.e. what are they off?
I'm thinking 1981 XS1100 Yamaha, but i'm not sure what else they have been released on, so i'm not sure. They have alloy hats, instead of chrome.

    Cheers

Don't know what they came off of but they are not from an XS 1100

Based on how they're spaced, the motor had a central cam chain.

A little bit of "Googling" the liter-bikes of the same era from other manufacturers revealed the fact that the '81 ~ '82 Kawasaki 1000 had Mikuni CV carbs with alloy hats.

I couldn't find any other bike whose carb hats weren't just stamped like the ones on the Yamahas.

Manual choke as well. Might be a clue.

I know some late '70s Yamaha XS650 have the same choke knob.

I haven't seen this kind of hat before, though.

The jet setup on the back looks like from early 80s.

78 and 79 SX11s had the cast tops and manual choke just like those. But the cover on the side where the diaphragm goes is throwing me off. I have only seen those 80s carbs. You might have a set of carbs that someone changed the tops.

Indeed. The bike I had before I got the 750Max was a vertical-twin cylinder Kawasaki (KZ750CSR). Had that exact style choke.

They look very similar to KZ or LTD 1000 Kawasaki carbs

That was an interesting lot of answers. I have been Googling them but have struggled to find the exact match. The closest i got was the XS1100 but it appeared to have Chrome hats, but it would seem the general consensus that is not the case. The rack came in the box with all my XJ650 parts, there is also another rack of 2 carbs i do need to ID after i get this lot sorted out.

    Cheers
