Sure, everyone has done that if they had to change the bearings.
They don't go by size since they have to be specially made to fit in the same space as the old ball bearings so you need to buy the ones made to fit your bike.

seems like if you found someone that has done this mod, they could give you the #'s off of them.

I have the solid tapered bearings in mine. A much better solution than the open packed bearings IMHO.

Ive just replaced the hammered ball bngs head bngs in my friends 81 XJ 650 Seca this very day. I thought theyed be a easy (cheap) replacement, but ended up getting
www.AllBallsRacing.com kit for $46 US. Included two dust shields.
Seems to me they are 4 dolla tapered rollers bngs, but theres no #'s scribed on them....
& they dont look like wheel bngs.....
Pt # 22-1015 Made in CN... I guess thats Canada./.....

There won't be any standard numbers on them if the bike came with ball bearings because the sizes are different and they have to be specially made to fit into the same space. That's why they cost a lot more, they are not mass produced like other bearings.
