Records, schmecords; it's still got original brake lines.

    Overpriced. $800 or less.

    Inflation! What a &$^@#!

Hey wait it has the side plates and a minty looking tank with Yamaha still attached-that's gotta be worth $400 right there even without the bike! At least if you believe the auction shysters anyway.

Looks pretty clean - I'd offer him $925 and see if he'll take $200 and finance the rest through the bank of P.O.

After that comment, I went back and looked again.

IS IT A 750, with a round headlight conversion, or a 650 with a 750 dual-disc front end? The headlight and everything looks awfully "factory" and the master cylinder doesn't sit at the right angle on the buckhorn bars.

I think it's a 650 with a 750 front end. That would explain the paint and the tank, wouldn't it?

shocks, seat, exhaust, mirrors, side covers & grab bar all 750. Looks like a 750 tank to me too - probably made a mistake with the the 3.4 gallons, maybe not though - the side covers look black don't they?

Hmm. He must have done a headlight conversion then. The sidecovers don't appear to match.

What amazes me is how people will spend time and money
keeping a tank and maybe a side cover/fender or two nice
and shiny yet forget about the most important part-the one that
    makes it go!

Down with dirty engines I say!

I'd be a bit suspicious of that head gasket on the left side.....

I'm getting a 82 Maxim xj 750 in similar condition. Although, everything is stock. I'm getting mine for $800. For a bike that's 29 years old, it seems reasonable. Especially if it runs! I'm excited to get my fist bike!

Would not only have to be swapped out the headlight, they had to have swapped out gauges, as well as front and rear turn signals.

Looks like a lot of parts came from a donor.

Guess if I were going to go look at it I'd take my laptop and look the VIN up when I got there. I just happen to keep Len's entire catalog on my laptop for reference when I don't have internet.

that is kind of weird, it either went down at some point and they had to swap that stuff, or someone just really likes the round headlight, blinkers, and atari.

There is no conversion. This is a stock XJ750K. I have the identical setup, and confirmed it was stock (using this site) before I purchased the bike.

The square headlight and "Atari" went the way of the dinosaur in '83.
