so i got stranded a few miles from home when my throttle cable snapped. right at the end. i walked home and returned with some tools and a plan.

using an old bicycle brake lever i jimmy rigged a thumb throttle to get the bike home. when i got the cable off it was worse than i thought. not only where it snapped off was bad but the whole cable was rusty and another spot was barely hanging on by a string.

i used the brake cable from that same old bike. in the outer sheath that was on my motorcycle to make a new throttle cable. the carb side of the old cable had a floating end piece that i slipped over the end of the new cable and soldered to make the end stop. now i have my old normally functioning twist throttle back.
originally i only intended this to be temporary to enjoy the weather but i think it should last a real long time.

any ways check your cables and lube lube lube!
what do you guys think about this repair job?
