Hello - so I've got this great parts bike and have been practicing my mechanics on it. I went to remove the clutch lever and in so doing ended up finding a spring on my garage floor that appears to be related to the lever as shown in the pictures. Question is, how do I get it back in??? I've been trying to squeeze it in with no luck and now I'm not sure I want to replace the lever from the good bike....

    Thanks!

    Al

No spring in any of mine. The grove in the handle is for a o-ring. The PO must have put it in to hepl push the clutch lever back, it does not belone in there.

Knowing what Bike we're dealing with would help.

That information belongs in your Signature Section.

    That being said ...

I've looked a two or three Levers.
    None had springs that large.

Thanks so much everyone, it is from my current 84 Maxim400. So now I suppose the next question is... where did that spring come from???

    Cheers,

    Al

It kind of looks like a spring from a light bulb socket, put it in the scrap bucket and save it until you need a spring for something.
