I need new fork tubes (the inner sliders) as mine are pitted. I have an 83 750 Maxim (22T-000131). Unfortunately I can not afford new or I would go that route. are the upper fork tubes off a 650 the same part? I realize the lowers would be different having just one rotor but my lowers are fine, it's the uppers that get clamped that I need. I've seen a few 650s but not many 750s (and the shipping quote I got for the 750s off ebay put me in the neighbourhood of may as well buy new (that auction was going cheap too, i think the seller either didn't want to ship to canada or was trying to cash in, glad i emailed first).

Almost all of the inner fork tubes are unique by model, and in the case of the XJ750 Maxim models, they actually differ between 1982 and 1983 models (due to the differeing air assist systems on those two models).

Where are you in Canada, Lisa? There's likely a bike wrecker not too distant if you're near a major metro area. There's even one near Ottawa!
