    It's not 100% right.

    The 550 Maxim was 3.4 gallons (13L) according to the Yamaha sales brochure I have here as well as the FSM; and the FSM for the 650 Maxim also lists 3.4 gal (13L.)

    This squares with Haynes; and they show the 750 Maxim at 4.5 gallons.

    I'm pretty sure that's correct; the 550/650 Max are the same, the 750 tank IS bigger.

    Well I guess I still need to look for a 750 tank.

    It won't fit a 550 very well. WAY longer, it'd overhang your rear mount. Just because the 550 and 650 Maxims had the same fuel capacity doesn't mean a 550 and 650 tank are the same-same.

    While you can swap parts between 650s and 750s all day, none of the stuff is truly interchangeable with the 550s; it just looks the same.
