    Hi guys,

I'm still trouble shooting my LEAN mixture issue. At the moment I'm focusing on possibilites of extra air getting into the system. When I started to think about the airbox and filter I realized, I don't have any idea if the filter is the correct one and how it's even supposed to fit properly. The PO had these two pieces of wood jammed between the back of the airbox and the filter. There are a lot of "rigged" parts on this bike that I'm continually having to fix. See pic below...

What is the setup supposed to look like and am I missing an important component that locks the filter in tightly (other than two pieces of oak)? Does this filter look correct/stock?

The filter is the correct one for our bikes.

The PO's put the wood blocks in there to hold the filter forwards, obviously thinking it needed it.

See the flange/handle at the top of the air filter element? That's actually held forward by the airbox cover when you put it on... so the blocks are totally unneeded, but if they make you feel better, they're not hurting anything by being there.
