hey guys im new here and just got a 82 xj550. the PO put aftermarket k&n filters on it, and put a air breather on the crank case vent hose, well where it would have been. there is some small amounts of oil coming out but, when i put a hose on it like factory it was fine. any thoughts, think its fine or blowby?

    No worries.

Every engine has some blow by.

If it starts eating excessive amounts of oil THEN worry. : )

BTW are you a tuba player? I was in high school about 300 years ago.

    Smell it!!!!

If it smells like gas, you have a sticking float valve & a possible leaking petcock.

If it smells like gas, change the oil & filter ASAP.

Wouldn't be the first....won't be the last.

    Cheers,

    Tim
