Was going to put on some crash bars I just picked up on ebay this weekend. Does anyone know ifl the stock bolts will do the job or am I going to need longer bolts to install these?

Ive got a pair on my bike. I assume the ones you have are the same or similar since we ride the same model.

I had to get 2, longer, bolts for the top, forward, mounts. One bolt for each side. After you got those its fairly easy. Just be sure your bike is upright and somewhat level. If its not, your motor may sag a little when you remove the lower mount bolt. Then you'll have to jack the engine up to line it back up. I learned the hard way on that one.

Just be sure to do them one bolt at a time to prevent your engine from moving and its a piece of cake Then you can get some highway pegs that fasten around the crash bars if you want.

    good luck

yeah I got the highway pegs already. I guess I can just put it on the center stand, stick a jack underneath (for safety if nothing else) and pick up some longer bolts. I don't suppose you remember the length of the bolts that worked for you? If not I'm sure I can figure out, just figured it couldn't hurt to ask

I don't remember the length. I wound up with hex head/allen wrench bolts. They can't be to long or they will hit the frame before they tighten down.

I suppose I can just measure the width of the bars mounting tab and add to the length of the original bolt...haha

There you go! Just be sure to add a bit extra for a lock washer and your set.

I really like the highway pegs on got on mine too. Its nice to be able to extend your legs on longer rides. I was going to build some forward controls but I like cornering better with the stock pegs.
