How do I test the starter cylanoid?
    And the engine kill/run switch on a 82 xj650

Are those two parts swappable on the 82 xj750??

You can kind of test a solenoid by connecting it to a battery to hear the 'click' as it switches connect blue/white to -ve and touch red/white on positive. For teh kill switch use a continuity tester ( a multimeter will have this feature or make one with a battery and a bulb..).

For compatibility yes the solenoid will work and if the kill switch assy look the same on both bikes then I would guess it's also the same - usually are with Yam.

Thanks the switch is definitely bad thought I'd hit it once more before testing it and the button flew out lol
