Hi all. I am trying to get a 1985 700 maxim running. It cranks good but won't start. My question for now is. How are the cylinders numbered? This bike has the #1 plug wire on the furthest right cylinder. ( this is the right hand side while sitting on the bike) #4 wire is furthest left. from #1 to #4 they go #1 #2 #3 #4 Are these wires on right????

they go 1-4 left to right while sitting on it.
the left hand coil feeds #1 and #3 and the right coil takes care of 2 and 4 if I remember right. I would have to go out to my bike to verify

but that should be right and should help to get you up and running.

The Cylinders are 1 to 4 left to right. The left coil goes to 1 and 4 the right coil to 2 and 3.
