    Hi there,

I just bought an xj650rjc (Canadian Seca 650) and the PO was running BPR6ES plugs. I’ve put in BPR7ES plugs, which I believe is correct. (I don’t think you can buy non resistor plugs in Canada.)

Could he have wrecked anything by running the wrong plugs?

    Thank you,

    Aaron

6's would be ok if your putting around in traffic, running rich or your bike is using lots of oil.

Post some pics, we always want to seen what everyone is riding

I would ask myself why did PO have hotter plugs in there.

My assumption is that he had no clue, and " a plug is a plug" mentality

Eh, I think if that were the case there'd be a more random plug or plugs in it. I vaguely recall my friends telling me I'd get more power and better gas mileage with a hotter plug when I was in my teens. I probably believed it then.

The honda manual (I know, I know) gives 2 Choices for plugs, one regular, one for high speed riding. Maybe that's what po was thinking. Guess which ones I went with?
