Did I take a spider for a ride?

Went for a ride over the mountains on the XJ9 yesterday, Sunday. Great fun. Got back just before it started raining. Between switching the motor off, and removing the helmet and gloves, a Huntsman (large spider) appeared on the Yamaha badge cover, near the ignition switch.

It can't have crawled up the bike that quickly, so it must have gone for a ride with me. I wonder where it was hiding? Might have to check for spiders before mounting up in the future.

Please see This thread for all interaction with spiders and XJ motorcycles, as has already been discussed on this forum. :)

Seriously, he probably felt it was a good place to hang out if the bike hadn't moved for a while. I had to rewire most of my Seca after critters built a nest in the fuse box area one winter. What we need is good creature repellent for these bikes!

You probably have cob webs under the tank too!!
I like to use a blow gun on my air hose to make sure all those little critters are gone before I even work on the bike.
Another trick I learned years back is to use Moth pellets around the bike on the floor when it's being stored over the winter. It will keep mice/bugs away from the bike (if you can stand the smell) The smell goes away after the first ride too.
