Any plans floating around for a DIY engine stand? 81 XJ650 would need to go in it. I've seen a few wooden ones in pictures, which would be preferable since I don't weld. Or a recommendation for one to purchase?

A simple way of securing the engine is to fix timbers onto your bench and drill holes in the timbers so you can put a steel rod through the crankcase mounting holes and then put the rod through the holes in the timber. It is a simple way of doing it to stop the engine moving when tightening some bolts. But it is not an engine stand, and it is not ideal either if you want to move the engine about.
