    Does anyone know if the rubber boot between the swingingarm and engine is still available new from anywhere. Or can it be repaired and patched.

    Thanks Dave C

    I'm not 100% sure if they are still available, but I couldn't see why not. As for repairing one.....We use a product called Loctite 406 at work for general repairs on O-Rings. I've stretched o-rings to their max without having them snap, when repaired with this stuff. I'm sure it would work for this application as well. Just be sure the surface is extremely clean to assure a proper bond.

    Good Luck, Cheesy!

    I put about a 1inch cut in mine, on the underside. Sealed it with some jb weld.

    Had a look in the manual but cant find anything, does the rubber boot need packing with grease like the cv boot on a car, or is it simply a cover between the swinging arm and engine.

    Acer.....I do carry the rubber drive shaft boot in stock for the XJ650 models:

    HCP488 OEM driveshaft accordian rubber Boot, brand new.
    $ 39.00

    HCP489 OEM driveshaft rubber boot Tension Spring, round spring that fits on the front end of the boot, brand new.
    $ 7.00

    The U-joint itself requires no lubrication or periodic service (nor packing with grease). However, it is recommended the this boot have a small, neat hole punctured into it on the underside (when installed) in order to allow water that might accumulate within it to have a suitable drain.

    Shipping to the UK is available.
