dumb question

    should my 79 xj11 special have a kick starter? I was thinking that because of the age it would but i dont see one..... am i missing somthing? Is there a kick starter that i could put on it?

    According to the Yamaha Web Site ... the 79 (seventy-nine) 1100 has a Kick Starter.

    But the 79 - 1100 is a XS Bike. Not a XJ Bike.

    They don't have a 1979 XJ-1100. They weren't making 'em yet!

    IIRC, the 79 had a removable kick-starter, and it's supposedly stored somewhere on the bike (if you're lucky).. 80-81 XS and the 82 XJ models had the kick starter hole plugged off with a plastic cap.

    It's under the seat, and it's black, not chrome. Kinda ugly. If it's the same as a '78 XS-11
