i just ordered some duro tires for my bike. i found a lot of reviews for their dirt tires, only a few good reviews of their street tires, no bad reviews.
these are the ones i got:
Duro Rear HF918 130/80H-18 Blackwall Tire
Duro Front HF918 100/90H-19 Blackwall Tire
    Duro hf918 tire
$90 for both shipped to my door.
weather permitting i will have them installed and have a ride report by next weekend.

    anybody else have these?

Not all that well rounded (yet  ) when it comes to bikes but that's the first time I've heard of tires being interchangable rear/front.
Good steal though $90 for the pair shipped.

I ordered a pair from G Bourque in New Brunswick for the XS650 I just sold. Two tires for under $100 is a steal. They seem alright, but I wouldn't put them on anything with a lot of power, i.e. my GS1100 which has the same tire sizes. Durability is an unknown right now, but I had to put a set on for the bike to pass safety, and the guy I sold the bike to doesn't ride much, so they should do well for him. Not exactly a bike that's hard on tires either.

i researched them, but decided to go with the Shinko(south korea) 712 tires because i could find more info on them. motorcycle superstore was less than $100 shipped. i've got 300mi so far. no complaints. i guess shinko bought the equipment from yokahama plant after it was wiped out in an earthquake.

    they arrived!

the visual and tactile inspection says they are a good tire, of course that has no bearing on how they will handle on the bike.

rain and a career change this week is going to delay my installation of them, but i hope to get them on this weekend.

    stay tuned...

I bought the same tires Duro last week~ Same as you lots of reviews and no bad ones that i could find. I got them in last night, Do you guys change your own tires?
The shop in town do it for $30 a tire,<i think thats if i take them off the bike> and that includes mounting and balancing.

I do not have a balancing machine/tool so i didn't even consider doing it myself.

    How hard is it?

    +1

i need to do front wheel bearings and rear brakes so it will be a perfect time to get it all done at once.

i dont have a balancer, but i am going to mount them and see how it rides. if i have a shimmy ill take them off and bring them to be balanced. my ride to work is rarely above 35mph so balance wont come into play for my primary riding.

my friend who raced bikes always did his own the static way, letting the heavy side find its way down and he would stick a weight on the light side until it was neutral, his bikes always rode great. i might try that.

    THESE TIRES ARE AWESOME!!!

i dont have much ride time, maybe 20 miles on them. they ride great thus far. they also were rideable as soon as i mounted them. no greasy outer coating, or dry slippery hard shell to wear off. i did do a few figure 8's in a parking lot before really pushing them, but i dont think i needed to.

now to see how long they last, and perform in the rain.

I'm running Duro's on my Seca with no issues. I'm very happy with them. The guru who runs a small motorcycle repair/parts shop locally recommended and ordered them for me. I'll be getting a set for the XS400 when it gets closer to being ready.
