electrical: '85 xj700n

    i bought the OEM gages for my '85 xj700n off ebay a few weeks ago

    a friend of mine from the boards here said that to hook up the tachometer... look for the orange wire

    can anybody confirm that?

    there is an orange wire coming out of the gages but not from the wire cluster coming from the bike itself... can't find the effer!

    No. Normally on Yamaha's the tach gets its signal from the 2/3 coil drive (gray wire).
