im having to take the engine out to weld the frame so im thinking engine rebuild just because one cylinder is leaking oil slightly onto spark plug so mayaswel do rebuild something i never done before while engine is out my question is do i get a standed set of ring and slap them in or do i need to rebore the pistons if so wouldnt i need like larger rings for 800cc bore kits they have advertised or would i need to have them sleeved professionaly bit of a grey area for me always tempted to try doing this though on a veichle

Split the cases and replace the alternator chain guide and replace the starter clutch rollers and springs. The chain guide fails from age, and the rollers and springs from use. May as do both jobs while the engine is already out.

Also, the shop won't really know if a light hone will do the job until the cylinders have been measured (unless the original cross-hatching is still evident).
Are you sure the rings are where the oil is coming from and not the valve guide seals?

You don't have to remove the engine to replace the valves oil seal.

If it's the oil seals the head will have to come off. It can be removed with the engine in situ. Check the clearance after the oil seal job.
