while cleaning and reworking my carbs recently on my 82 seca i got 3 of the 4 enrichment circiuts clean. No matter what i tried I could not get carb 2 to clear up. If 3 of the 4 enrichment circuits work will that be enough to provide good cold starts?
    Thanks
    Jeff

It'll work - you'll just have a "dead" cylinder when cold, and it might not want to idle unattended. What specific part couldn't you clean??

Why not just do it right? Fix it now, or you'll be back in anyway.

Yeah seriously. You don't want to take your carbs off any more than you have to. I was able to use a hypodermic needle--that was the only thing small enough and then just the very tip of it. You may not be able to get your hands on one, but if you can that's the thing.

I was able to borrow one from the shop manager, who had a set of them. He made me sign it out and return it to him. Like I would have wanted to do drugs with it after getting it covered in varnish and carb cleaner anyway...would have gotten varnishitis or something.

If you're talking about in the enrichment well IN the float bowl, gently apply heat from a propane torch and see if it turns the obstruction crumbly. GENTLY.

You can pull a bristle from a wire brush - they are 3" long and "U" shaped.
I picked up a broken guitar string. Good luck !

Chacal sells these extra-long itsy bitsy teensy weensy drill bits for just such an occasion. You'll still need to hold it in place with a pair of needlenose pliers, but it's better than nothing. See if maybe he can't hook you up.

When I cleaned mine I placed the bottom bowl in a saucepan of boiling water and gently simmered for half hour and then blew carb cleaner through when the varnish thinned ! this is not as harsh as applying the blow torch.

However, its best to wait until the wife has gone out if you want a peaceful life! :D

Use lemon juice and it will be shiny clean in the bargain!

Imagine what SWMBO would say about this: (Good thing I'm not married any more.)
