Hi guys, oh and lady's, i am thinking of switching my bars to the euro style, the stock ones are just too uncomfortable for me on longer rides, does anyone know if its just a basic bolt on and go or if there are any mods that need to be done?

    thanks a ton.

On the 550s the only thing that HAD to be replaced was the clutch cable; I couldn't get it re-routed in such a way that it didn't want to get up against a head pipe. Everything else "tucked" ok.

I used the "European" bend bars on both bikes.

as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
my only question is, when you see a particular bend that you think LOOKS good (based on the picture of the bars) how do you know what theyll look like on the bike, if theyll clear everything or how theyll feel when you ride?

how many styles does everyone usually try before they find what suits them?

I'm 6'5" and was cramped by the stock bars, I needed to stretch my arms out. The "hand angle" is perfect; they fall right where they should if I were simply to casually swing my arms up to that position. They're not TOO low (for me anyway) so they don't load my wrists.

Ltdave I went over to Rocky's in Flint (actually Burton) where they have a whole RACK of different bars and "tried" them. I took my stock bars with me; and knew approximately how much lower than the stockers they should be. It was a REAL difficult choice between "European" and "GP Touring." I'm very pleased with the choice. (It's only about an hour for you via I69, if you've never been there you oughtta... you WILL thank me.)
