exhaust mod = what size jets?

Figured i'd start a new thread here since my cylinder is indeed firing now...

I have stock exhaust and (finally!) a stock air box.

The PO (add a s to that btw, this person SUCKED at working on bikes) decided to do some mods.

I've replaced the pods with the box and am currently waiting for the petcock re-build kit so I can go back to stock vacuum-powered instead of the dumb jury-rigged gravity-fed thing I got going on.

The PO(S) also cut the stock pipes off at an angle (slash cut?) and poked through the dampener.

So the only real "mod" would be the exhaust. With that in mind, what size jets should I get? Or should I have? I'm more than willing to buy them, but I'd prefer to buy them one time if you know what I mean....

If all that's "hacked" are the mufflers themselves you might be OK. As long as the head pipes and collector box are intact, rejetting may not be necessary.

You'll probably have to rejet. Check Len's writeup in the parts catalog. He does a great job explaining where to start with certain mods.

Guess we'll see when my float bowl kits get here. I'm absolutely positive either on of the floats themselves have a small pin hole or one of the needles aren't seating properly anymore, because when I shut the gas off, it idles fine, but when I open the valve all the way, it bogs down and dies.

Btw, I don't have a stock gas line setup. Petcock doesn't work, just pours gas, so they put a shut-off valve in the line.
