ok i have herd of 4 into 4, 4 into 2 that is what i have and 4 into 1 well today i was looking at it i like the 4 into 1 it would be a bit meaner sounding well for a pore mans dream to come in to 299.00 on ebay to get the 4 into 1 deal that would be great but today i wanted to hear if my bike is miss firing but its not think god but i pulled off the two slip ons ya know the ones that screw into the passanger pegs it sounded like a track bike and its loud for a 550 but i road it for like a block and it felt like it had no aceleration and bit of backfire because of loss of backpressure so im thinking if the 4 into 1 sounds nicer wouldnt it have more back pressure than the stock so in thory you would have more aceleration but no top end
and if i leave off the slip offs i would have more top end but would i burn up my valves or mess something up and if not would i have to rejet it and get a differnt intake like the DUAL POD K&N AIR filters

ohh today i found out that i can change my idle lol i recoment not to change it till the bike is warmed up otherwise your 1,200 rpm at start up will warm up to 4000 and stay there

If you open up one end, you will need to open up the other end also!
Translated into, if you open up the exhaust, you need to open up the carbs for it to run better. Your engine is just an air pump, so you need to have the same amount going in as coming out. Jetting is always required in this case.

If you run it hard, and lean, you could burn valves. And not make any more real world horsepower than stock. You need to see what "worldsfastest550xj" did to his bike. Hey, where is he?

I'd say tune it a tad rich until you figure it out.
