    Hello!

One of the screws that holds the crank case on has a bit of a stripped head. On the 1985 XJ700, these screws have built-in rubber grommets, and don't seem easily replaceable.

However, I picked up an 3cm M6 1mm pitch machine screw with a hex cap, and it fits perfectly.

My question is this: is there any reason to not use a regular machine screw? What does the rubber grommet do on these screws? I haven't noticed any oil leaks or anything since replacing the one screw, and I am tempted to do all four, and maybe the rest of the case covers -- I prefer hex caps to Phillips, and the new screws would give it a more modern, industrial look.
