    Hi all,
    Me again.
Just wondering.. Does wind affect fuel consumption.? I don't mean of the human kind lol..In fact human wind may actually reduce consumption.
Lately I notice that my use of fuel varies.. Sometimes I have to go to reserve earlier than I think.. And when I do the bike still cuts to a halt. Am I leaving it too late to switch to reserve or does this happen.?
My memory of my old air cooled RD's was that if you caught the engine just as she was running out and went to reserve she would splutter a bit and then catch on.
My XJ650 doesn't do this. Switch to reserve and she comes to a halt and takes about 5 minutes to restart after wards. I do have an inline filter on her..Maybe this restricts the flow.?
Any advice is great..Thanks all as usual.
    Morg.

Wind will effect your MPG. I find if I don't have the windscreen on or if there's a strong head/side wind I can lose as much as 5mpg.

The inline shouldn't effect the flow like that, so if it's clean then it sounds like you might have a vacumn issue or a clogged petcock in-tank fuel filter). I'd pull the tank and petcock and make sure everything is kosher. That will also give you a chance to make sure the tank is clean.

If it's not a clog, sounds like vacumn, and there are much smarter people to talk about that than I.
