I bought my bike very cheap, with the intention of riding it and fixing it up as I went. Trouble was, it didn't pull well at low revs making it difficult to ride around town. That was the tip of the iceberg.

To cut a long story short, it needed much more than I thought - see my gallery for moans and groans - and then winter arrived. Now, it was snowing last week but I have been working away for the last few weeks in the garage late at night and finally started it up after 5 months, and one carb clean.(Almost flattened the battery).
I expected it to run like a kitten but it didn't and as it was late at night I gave up! Today I started it again (First time on the button with the enrichment knob pulled) and gave it some revs. After a minute or two I got a steady - if fast- idle and the bike settled down nicely. I slowed the idle and she seems to pick up nicely instead of bogging down.

No shakedown ride allowed over here however, as the bike does not have its MOT test or road tax. I borrowed a carbtune from my workmate (Whose name is Morgan, Ha Ha) and hope to set this tomorrow.

Next stop - the MOT station!

PS. I 've found the previous owner didn't believe in exhaust gaskets! Never mind, i now got a set.
