Fired the BSA Gold Flash up today

    It's a bitsa, registered as a 500cc sometime in it's life it had a 650cc transplant, Dad's owned it 20 odd years but for most of that time it was in bits and when it was going hardly got ridden, I got it and seized it within 100 miles due to some previous shoddy work by a guy Dad paid to rebuild

    Engine got a rebuild with new 7.25-1 pistons (up from 6.5-1) thick flange barrel, later alloy head and SRM oil pump and pressure plate

    Time to start putting some miles on it

    I'm old enough that Brit bikes just look and sound, 'right'
    Was it already warmed up?
    Did I see exhaust gases coming from the headers rather than the exhaust?
    Congrats to you, is Dad going to take it for a run occasionally?

    It had been run but not for about 20 minutes, starts easily now I have worked out how
    Headers are just push in so it's hard to get a good seal
    Unlikely he'll ride it, pushing 80 and said he limps for a week every time he starts it which is why he gave it to me
