After breaking down the carbs and putting 'em back together, setting float levels, synching and setting mixtures I took it for a test run today.

Holy snapping duck shit!! When you power on it powers on and the 4 -1 exhaust, it sounds sweet. The tuning's not there yet, still running rich and some popping under heavy engine breaking. Who knows with the 4-1 exhaust and stock jets maybe I'll have to look at that. Idle crept up after riding for awhile but will play around some more with that as well.

Had to laugh at a young lad in a car next to me at the service station. After putting some fuel in the bike I was adjusting the idle down and blipping between changes. He was looking at me with his hands over his ears. Yeah baby that's the XJ power :)

With a 4 to 1 exhaust and stock jets I'm supprised you are not lean.

lol maybe i am, I thought the popping on deceleration was a sign of rich mixture. Still learning :) May explain why I'm struggling to get a orange flame on the colortune then.

Its amazing when you have clean, adjusted, and synced carbs. It can really wake up these bikes.
