And I got to this bar around the corner. Sat down, had a beer, left, go out to start the bike. Turn the key and the oil light and neutral light come on (normal), press the start button, both lights go off, and she's dead as a door nail. I can't even make the horn go!

I checked all my fuses w/my multimeter along w/check the battery. Everything is fine. The fuse box is new, as is the wiring there, so no problems. Suggestions on where to turn next? I suspect the computer chip thingy next to the fuse box, but shouldn't I be able to honk the horn even if that is shot?

    Suggestions?

Bad connection somewhere. Starter draw finished the disconnect.

Likely candidate after storage is battery posts. Clean them and reattach.

Next likely is where the negative battery cable attaches to the case.

Maybe I don't quite understand the multimeter I used, but after posting this, I went back to my bike, and measured the ohms from the pos lead to the neg lead on the battery while attached to the bike, and it gave a reading, which means the circuit is complete on teh bike right?

That's what bothers me. If there is some back connection somewhre, shouldn't it not read anything?

If you didn't disconnect those leads from the battery your reading is meaningless and you're lucky you didn't damage the meter.

My point is, it's likely the connection between those leads and the battery itself.

Something else that is a possibility is the battery is shot. I have a friend that rode into a gas station. Filled up, then nothing.

Battery had completely died in route.

I know its not the battery. The multimeter shows 11.xx volts on the battery right now. I am away from the house right now (easter weekend) but will be back Sunday evening and can check my leads better.
